To our amazing fans – It is with heavy hearts that we’ve made the difficult decision as a family to say goodbye to Keeping Up with the Kardashians. After what will be 14 years, 20 seasons, hundreds of episodes and numerous spin-off shows, we are beyond grateful to all of you who’ve watched us for all of these years – through the good times, the bad times, the happiness, the tears, and the many relationships and children. We’ll forever cherish the wonderful memories and countless people we’ve met along the way. Thank you to the thousands of individuals and businesses that have been a part of this experience and, most importantly, a very special thank you to Ryan Seacrest for believing in us, E! for being our partner, and our production team at Bunim/Murray, who’ve spent countless hours documenting our lives. Our last season will air early next year in 2021. Without Keeping Up with The Kardashians, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I am so incredibly grateful to everyone who has watched and supported me and my family these past 14 incredible years. This show made us who we are and I will be forever in debt to everyone who played a role in shaping our careers and changing our lives forever. With Love and Gratitude, Kim

This announcement comes amidst rumors that Kardashian West has plans to transform herself into a lifestyle guru all the while grappling with husband Kanye West’s very publicly confusing presidential run. Season 19 of Keeping Up With the Kardashians will premiere on E! on Thursday, September 17, while the 20th and final season will air, as Kardashian noted, in 2021.

There’s been wide speculation about how much, if any, coverage of Kanye West’s erratic presidential campaign will appear on the upcoming series. In the past, the Kardashians have rarely missed an opportunity to turn their most controversial headlines into reality-show narratives. Nor did they attempt to hide out even when Caitlyn Jenner’s historic coming out divided the family.

On the contrary, it made for some must-see TV. But in a social media post earlier this summer, Kim Kardashian West seems to have found a privacy line she wants to draw around her family in the wake of her husband’s unpredictable public statements.

I am very protective of our children and Kanye’s right to privacy when it comes to his health,” she wrote.

“I kindly ask that the media and public give us the compassion and empathy that is needed so that we can get through this.”

Could the end of the TV series be another move from Kardashian West to protect her family as they work through a year that has proven to be difficult for even the most famous and privileged figures in America to navigate? Maybe. Or maybe this is simply an attempt from one of the canniest businesswomen in the country to rebrand herself yet again.

Keep your fingers crossed……
