Suspended acting chairman of the economic and financial crimes commission “Ibrahim Magu” has moved his personal belongings out of the official residence in Maitama.

Credible sources confirms security agencies visited the residence of the acting chairman in search of incriminating documents. It is believed that the search is connected with the ongoing investigation on fraud allegations leveled against him.

However, it is not clear if the visitation was successful as information gathered points that Mr Magu had earlier packed out of the residence. The seven-man panel has concluded its sitting today with a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and former Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Kanu Agabi representing Mr Ibrahim Magu.

It was earlier reported that Mr Mohammed Umar, the director of operations was appointed to oversee the agency as Mago remains in custody.

Meanwhile, it is still unclear why Mr Magu is being held and has not returned to his personal or official residence.
