“IT WAS NEVER MY INTENTION TO LEAVE”- ANDER HERRERA

Ander Herrera reveals that he didn’t want to leave Manchester United but had to due to difference of opinion with the board.The Spaniard didn’t celebrate even after winning the league title in PSG.

He revealed his sadness at the mode at which PSG won the ligue 1 title saying he never wanted to leave Manchester United.His five years contract came to an end in old Trafford when he joined Paris Saint German on a free transfer.

Even while the streets were paved gold for the modern player, he expressed dissatisfaction at how his first league season ended.The midfielder had a record of 20 goals in 189 appearance winning the FA cup, Europa league and league cup.

France ligue 1 was abandoned before the ravaging virus could be resolved.The runaway champions “PSG” were declared champions, but left a rather bitter taste for the Spanish midfielder.

He hoped his first cup in ligue 1 would be a jubiliant moment to share with both fans and team-mates.

He said;

“To be honest, I didn’t celebrate it,” Herrera told ESPN. “I love football but I love to play football and win trophies on the pitch.”

The former Athletic Bilbao player added:

“I hope we can fight for the cup titles that we still have to play on the pitch with fans in the stadium and let’s see if we can also fight for the Champions League.

“To be honest, it’s quite sad to win my first league title like this.

He spoke of enjoying “a great relationship” with United’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward, but that was not enough to keep him in England.Now, Herrera has indicated he was hoping to stay with the Red Devils.

Recalling back his moments at old Trafford , he said;

When I look back a year ago, my intention was not to leave Manchester United,” Herrera said.

The 30-year-old said it was not unusual for a player’s point of view to not match up to a club’s vision.“I disagreed with some of the decisions they made but this happens in football,” he said.

“It happens in every company.”
