Former deputy chairman of the people’s Democratic party (PDP) and member, board of trustees Chief Olabode George has made a donation worth of N160M as a direct aid to the needy in Lagos State to curtail the harsh effect of the lockdown issued by the federal government to halt spread of Corona virus pandemic in the country.
The aid involves cash donation, cows, bags of rice, groundnut oil, bottled water and beans, this was distrubuted irrespective of their political party.He also extended his hand of help to the Lagos State chapter of the PDP with a sum of N10M.
George also commended the federal government and also the various state government for it’s action towards curbing the virus. As a statesman he said the government can’t do it alone that’s why he made the relief to the needy in Lagos State. While making his statement he also noted that this donation had nothing to do with politics and should therefore have no political coloration.
He went further to promise that he would also reach out to the south and west and called on to Nigerians to cooperate with the government in combating the spread.
He therefore prayed that the Almighty God guide the president as he combats this virus.
